Because she was getting jealous at how close J and I are…

I was sterilized today =(

The car ride there was really scary. I think I really don’t like car rides. The sound and movements scare me, and for the whole journey, I sat trembling in S’s lap.

This was after the procedure. J was not strangling me, he was propping me up because I was too groggy. I think I meowed sadly a couple of times, and I can barely walk. Kept tripping over my own feet!

So disorientated that I crawled into my safe corner and fell asleep upon reaching home. Wobbling around is pretty tiring.

My favorite cuddle chair

December 28, 2008

Everyone refers to this particular chair as the “magic chair”. Although I am a really friendly cat and I love cuddles, I still have my independent moods you know? But chances are, even when I’m in A Mood, I will still jump onto your lap if you sit on this chair and call my name.

The following picture is specially for Sophie’s mummy, because she insinuated that I have a big tummy.

Actually, I was in that position because I fell back asleep mid-stretch. It happens quite a lot.

Today, J and S went for lunch at Da Paolo and they found this little pet shop that sells tons (well by Singapore standards) of pedigreed cats! There were Ragdolls, Birmans, British Shorthairs, Bengals, Persians, Russian Blues, Exotic Shorthairs and Maine Coons! Basically all the breeds that S considered when she was hunting for a sister for me. The Coon was seriously massive and really gorgeous in a crazily ostentatious and majestic way. But I think she is glad she chose Luna, a BSH, because they look amazing in real life even without all the fanfare of a Coon!

The manly way to sit

The moon at her 8th week

December 25, 2008

Adrian and Kelly took some pictures of me as a Christmas gift for S and J. My eyes have already lost their blue, slowly turning mesmerizing copper! I think S would be glad to see how the traditional british shorthair Cheshire smile is slowly beginning to show as well. And of course, my stripey tail. J is more of a look beyond the surface kind of person, but S is a superficial tail-ist.

Butter’s cameo appearance

December 24, 2008

Hello. I can’t say I’m thrilled to be in this silly red hat. Can’t believe J bought it for S and she actually wore it all evening.

Anyway, Arthur is meant to be the one with the hat and saying Merry Christmas to all. But his fur is too short for the clip to hold. Today is also not a good day to put a pointy hat on him because he was thoroughly frustrated by a laser point he was chasing. He emitted this irritated tsktsktsk chatter.

So yes, it’s me. Do I look grumpy? I guess I do. But really, I do wish all of you a Merry Christmas, and a blessed New Year!

The importance of being cute

December 24, 2008

Today I overhead S comment: “Arthur will not be able to survive half a day on the streets because he lacks the necessary life skills and instincts”. Needless to say, I was (and still am) highly indignant.

Even if you agree with her (which you shouldn’t) that I am not a good hunter and cannot defend my territory, the point is, I don’t have to fight for survival. The trick, guys, is to be cute. That way, I can just charm the socks off humans and trot home with them.

Why do you think I got adopted instead of the many other kittens available at the SPCA? Well in case any of you require more proof of how absolutely crucial it is to be cute, let me show you. I can even do cute in my sleep.

I think I can get away with the occasional forbidden things (like drinking from Human Water Supply) because I can camouflage really well.

The room with a view

December 18, 2008

Check out how much I’ve grown! No longer the baby of the house. Kind of. Okay not really, I’m still very much a baby and I love attention.

I was really really angry at J today because he decided to give me a bath. Apparently both S and J are allergic to me when I’m not bathed frequently? What rubbish. Granted, the bath water did turn grey, but still! The picture above is an example of my naughty/angry ears.

And lastly, here’s a cute picture of me (or in S’s words: “This is Arthur being silly again”). I likey how the world looks like that.

Find Luna

December 18, 2008

Adrian and Kelly took some pictures of me. The thing is, I look exactly like the rest of my siblings, so S and J won’t be able to tell which one I am! Clue: I’m one of the five lilacs.

Don’t all of us look positively adorable? All same shape!
